Melissa Ruther

Melissa serves as Veterans Commercial Real Estate’s retail advisor and is Vice President of Retail Brokerage at CBRE.  She has over fifteen years of experience in the areas of retail tenant representation, shopping center development, surplus property disposition, shopping center leasing, and market analysis. Ms. Ruther represents clients in central and southern Ohio, and central and northern Kentucky. A partial client list includes: Walmart, Red Robin, Starbucks, IHOP, Fresh Market, Toy R Us/Babies R Us & California Pizza Kitchen.

Ms. Ruther’s extensive retail experience includes positions as Second Vice President with Colliers International from 2003 to 2006, a Retail Associate with Grubb & Ellis from 1999 to 2003, and Project Manager for West Shell from 1997 to 1999.

Ms. Ruther is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers where she serves as Co-Chair of the ICSC’s Next Generation Council. Ms. Ruther received the Colliers Turley Martin Tucker Rising Star Award in 2004 and has published articles in industry publications such as the Heartland Real Estate Journal and the Midwest Real Estate Journal.
